LOS ANGELES -- After a strong performance in Claremont, Calif. last weekend, the LMU men's tennis team is looking to keep things going this weekend at the Costa Mesa Pro Classic in Costa Mesa, Calif. The tournament is designed to showcase upcoming talent with current and former top collegiate players.

Senior Nicholas Bjerke, junior Sebastian Bustamante, sophomore Todd Volmari, and sophomore Felix Van Kann competed in last week's Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center USTA Pro Classic Futures Tournament. Van Kann and Bjerke were paired up in the first round of play, with Bjerke eliminating his teammate early. Bjerke, Bustamante, and Volmari all advanced to the third-round but failed to make it to the round of 16.

"We still have two more futures coming up in the next two weekends so we are looking to forward to bettering our results and have some guys qualify for the main draw," said Assistant Coach Aaron Paajanen following last week's tournament in Claremont.

The Costa Mesa Futures tournament begins this Friday, Sept. 14.
