LMU men’s tennis will send four players to the 61st Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships this weekend. The event, hosted by USC, begins on Thursday. The Lions will be represented by Ethan Prost, Ryan Brown, Alex Bourgeois and Cartier Juan in singles and doubles competition.
Beginning in the singles qualifying tournament on Thursday, fifth-seeded Bourgeois will receive an opening round bye before playing the winner of Jens Sweaney (USC)/Manhon Ko (Concordia). Prost will open play against Florian Mayer (Concordia), while Brown faces Nikita Katsnelson (Concordia) in the opening round. Finally, Juan will square off against Artsiom Ausiyevich (BYU) to open play.
On the doubles side, action begins in the qualifying rounds on Friday. There, Bourgeois/Brown will meet Ermert/Manoharan (UCSD), and Juan/Prost will face Tseng/Zhang (UCSD).
The SoCal Intercollegiate Tournament is the last road competition for LMU this fall, as the Lions will return home on November 10 to host the LMU Invitational featuring San Diego State, Nevada and Pepperdine.
