Junior Joe Ferretti was led to the sport of water polo through his sister and to LMU through his grandfather, and he has become one of the Lions' upperclassmen leaders.
As a freshman in the 2011 season, LMU's Joe Ferretti scored 41 goals, was named the Western Water Polo Association's Newcomer of the Year and second-team All-Conference. Then came the injuries. But a month into his final season, Ferretti has battled back from the injuries and has become a leader for the youthful Lions.
At the age of 10, Joe Ferretti was introduced to the sport of water polo by his older sister. As he learned to love the sport and playing at the college level became an option, his grandfather, an LMU alum, led him to his alma mater. In his third season, Ferretti has become a leader for the Lions.

Personal... Joseph David Ferretti was born on Feb. 21, 1993 in Huntington Beach, Calif... He is the son of Michele and Mike Ferritti... both parents were swimmers and ran track... has two older sisters... Laura was a member of the UCLA crew team while Michele played water polo at St. Francis... he was a coach for United Water Polo Club, teaching 9 to 12 year-olds... his grandfather attended LMU... played with teammate Gavin Wild on the SoCal Water Polo Club... a Sociology major.
