Briefly... Scott Smith enters his fourth and final year in the Lions' program... one of the fastest swimmers on the team... excellent offensive game... an outstanding all-around athlete... tenacious offensive driver... helps defend the counter very well... looks to be a starter.

At LMU... 2002... played in all 32 games as a junior... finished with 13 goals on 36 attempts (36.1 percent)... finished with 14 steals, seven assists and three field blocks... started the season with his only hat-trick, netting three goals in win over Santa Clara (9-7-02)... added two goal games against Pomona (10-19-02) and Redlands (11-22-02)... 2001... found the back of the net 18 times in second season with the Lions... finished ranked sixth on the team... had a shooting percentage of .455... added 19 steals... 2000... played in nine games for the Lions...stole the ball three times...made one of his five shot attempts.

A 2000 graduate of Davis High School in Davis, CA...a four-year letterwinner in water polo who served as team captain his senior season...an All-CIF first-team honoree his final two years...All-American accolades as a junior and senior, earning honorable mention as a junior and fifth-team honors as a senior...was a four-year letterwinner in swimming... San Joaquin section "Swimmer of the Year" as a sophomore... played for coach Tracy Stapleton.

Personal... Scott Courtney Smith was born on Apr. 15, 1982 in Vallejo, CA... the son of William and Gayle Smith... has two sisters, Penelope and Amanda, and one brother, Khristian... plans to major in film production.
