La Jolla, CA (Sept. 3) -- The eighth-ranked Loyola Marymount men's water polo team continued its early season offensive assult with another 25 goals in a pair of wins in the final day of the 2006 UC San Diego Triton Invitational on Sunday. The Lions improve to 3-1 on the season.

The Lions opened the day with a 15-10 over No. 16 Redlands and then defeated No. 10 UC Santa Barbara 10-5 to take fifth place in this year's Triton Invite.

In the four games to start the 2006 season the Lions scored 57 goals, the most in six trips to the Triton Invitational.

LMU, who has played three ranked teams already this season, will have two more as the Lions will play their home opener on Friday. The Lions will face sixth-ranked Pepperdine on Friday and then defending national champion and second-ranked USC on Sunday. Both games are at 12 noon.
