Los Angeles, CA -- The Loyola Marymount University men's water polo team fell to the University of Pacific in the first game of the Southern California Tournament 10-8 on Saturday morning.

Pacific (2-0), ranked 11th in the country, scored two late goals in the fourth period to upset the seventh ranked Lions (2-3). Pacific would later in the day upset host and second ranked USC 8-7 to move into the championship bracket of the tournament.

The Lions and USC will play in the late evening round of games on Saturday.

LMU and Pacific would finish the first period at 3-3. Pacific took the halfitme lead at 5-4 thanks to a hat-trick by Sasha Maese.

LMU would coume back with four goals of their own, knotting the game at 8-8 headed into the final frame. However, the Tigers would score two unanswered for the win.
