Lions Fall to Defending Champs

LOS ANGELES - The 12th-ranked LMU men's water polo team fell to defending national champion and fourth-ranked USC, 13-3, at McDonald's Swim Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was the first of the final two road games of the regular season for the Lions, who fall to 9-6 on the season. Senior Edgaras Asajavicius scored a pair of goals while Kyle Testman had eight saves. USC scored the first two goals of the game in a defensive first quarter. Jon Colton scored during a 6-on-4 to make it 2-1 at 7:36 in the second. USC would then go on a 9-0 run to pull away. Asajavicius scored on a pair of 6-on-5 opportunities in the fourth quarter for the final margin. The Lions will play their final road game of the season when they travel to Colorado to take on Air Force in Colorado Springs on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. Oct. 8, 2011 -- McDonald's Swim Stadium
