RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Loyola Marymount faced a tough 17th-ranked Cal Baptist team on Thursday night. The Lancers (18-12, 2-3 WWPA) held true to their national ranking, topping the Lions (5-16, 1-3 WWPA), 13-5.

Cal Baptist opened the game with the first four goals, before Alessio Brunochelli put the Lions on the board with 1:45 to play in the first. After CBU added one, LMU scored once more before the quarter ran out, with Joseph Shaw finishing the power play goal off the Jacob Markle assist.

The Lancers scored all four goals of the second quarter, taking a 9-2 lead into the half.

CBU scored the first goal of the third quarter before LMU answered with back-to-back goals from Edward Moss and Brunochelli, respectively.

Three of the final four goals came from Cal Baptist, with Brunochelli scoring his third to close out the game.
