Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 31) - The 10th-ranked Loyola Marymount University men's water polo team had 12 different players score to earn a 17-6 victory of Claremont in a Western Water Polo Association match on a chilly Friday afternoon at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center.
The Lions left no doubt early as they score six goals in the first frame to coast to the win against fellow WWPA foe. The Lions improve to 11-11 on the season and 7-3 in the WWPA. Claremont falls to 5-11 and 0-3 in WWPA competition.
Sophomore Endre Rex-Kiss and senior Scott Smith each finished with three-goal games. Senior Ryan Chapatte added a pair and nine others scored to pace the Lions.
After Claremont a pair of unanswered goals to start the second period that cut the score to 6-3, the Lions would score three unanswered of their own to put the game out of reach.
The Lions return to action against teams in the nation's top-10 when they host fourth-ranked UCLA on Thursday, Nov. 6. It is the final home weekend of the 2003 season as LMU will finish with Air Force and Redlands on Satuday, Nov. 8.
