USAFA, Colo. - Riding a 6-0 first quarter, the 12th-ranked Loyola Marymount Lions rolled to 1 16-8 victory over 20th-ranked Redlands in the quarterfinals of the 2007 Western Water Polo Association Men's Water Polo Championship at Air Force on Friday afternoon. The win puts the Lions into the semifinals for the ninth straight year.

Freshman Tibor Forai, a second-team All-WWPA selection and member of the WWPA All-Freshman team, scored a career-best five goals to lead the Lions to the win. They improve to 11-15 on the year and will face the winner of Santa Clara and Pomona-Pitzer. Redlands falls to 21-13 on the year.

LMU, seeded third in the tournament, hit the Redlands with six straight in the first frame and then held a 10-4 edge at the break over the No. 6 seed Bulldogs. The Lions added four more in the third and another pair in the final frame to coast into the semifinals.

Senior Rory Kelly, known for his defense, scored a career-best four goals and Patrick O'Brien added a hat-trick. LMU will look to advance to the championship game for the eighth straight season.
