LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount men’s water polo returns from tournament play to its regular schedule this week with a rematch against UC San Diego and a home match with Whittier. The game in La Jolla will be played on Wednesday at 6 p.m., and the return to Burns Aquatic Center against the Poets will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lions faced the Tritons in last weekend’s home tournament, falling 8-5 to the fellow WWPA members. This will be the second of three scheduled meetings with UCSD, with the Tritons scheduled to return to Burns on Oct. 6 for the teams’ conference match.
Whittier (3-7) snapped a seven-match losing skip with consecutive wins against Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental last week. Like the Lions, Whittier will play on Wednesday, but also have a scheduled home conference match on Saturday morning prior to making the trip to the Bluff.
Following Saturday’s game, LMU goalkeeper Dominick Beaudine will be presented with the Kyle Testman Scholarship. Fans are encouraged to stay and hear from Head Coach John Loughran welcome the Testman’s, and hear Beaudine accept the scholarship.
LMU’s game against Whittier is the start to a three-match home stretch, with the Lions playing back-to-back games on Oct. 5 and 6 at Burns as well.
