LOS ANGELES – The Western Water Polo Association season continues as men’s water polo travels to Air Force for a 6 p.m. Friday game. The Lions (4-11, 1-1 WWPA) and Falcons (4-10, 0-1 WWPA) have played twice earlier this year, splitting the two nonconference matchups.

Water Polo Prepares for Tournament's Final Day
Loyola Marymount men's water polo dropped both of its games on Saturday in the 2017 Mountain Pacific Invitational.

The two teams first met on Sept. 3 at the UCSD Triton Invitational. LMU topped Air Force, 16-12, to complete a perfect day after beating Chapman earlier that morning.

Air Force then made it’s way to Burns Aquatic Center on Sept. 23 as part of the 16-team So Cal Tournament co-hosted by LMU and USC. The two played a close battle, with Air Force taking the game by two goals, 9-7.

Friday’s match will be the first meeting of the season that counts in the conference standings. Air Force has just one conference game to date, losing to UC Davis on Sept. 30, 24-13. The Lions have split two conference games this year, with the win coming on the road at Fresno Pacific back in September.
