LOS ANGELES - Junior goalie Dominick Beaudine had one of the best two-game performances of his career last weekend, lifting 17th-ranked LMU men’s water polo to a pair of key wins against Western Water Polo Association foes. The Lions now ride that momentum up north for a key road trip in Northern California.

Beaudine was named KAP7 WWPA Player of the Week for week nine thanks to making 24 saves with just eight goals against for a whopping .750 average in two victories. He stopped 13 shots with three steals against Concordia, then followed with 11 saves and four thefts in the Lions' upset of California Baptist, who was ranked 14th nationally, in a key conference matchup.

The Lions are now set-up for a key road swing against the top of the WWPA standings, starting with the league leader, eighth-ranked UC Davis on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 pm. The Lions then go 20th-ranked Santa Clara on Saturday, Nov. 5 at noon.

LMU moved within a game of front-runners UC Davis and UC San Diego for the conference race with their Senior Day win over California Baptist. Sophomore center Dayne Jagga scored three goals in both the victory over the Lancers and Friday's 18-5 win over Concordia. Freshman Collin Sohn netted five goals while fellow first-year Alex Athimaritis added two goals and four assists against the Eagles.

Jagga is third in the WWPA with 56 goals this season while sophomore Caniel Arellano continues to dominate the league in assists with his LMU-record 60. He is third in the conference with 76 points.

UC Davis moved just one victory away from the 20-win circle after its win over perennial Top 10 program Pepperdine. Marcus Anderson and Ido Goldschmidt each scored two goals, while defensive heroics by junior Cory Laidig. The Waves are the highest-ranked team the Aggies have beaten since... the Waves. UC Davis topped then-No. 8 Pepperdine in the 2015 opening weekend. Santa Clara split its Southern California road trip with a tough 13-8 conference loss at Cal Baptist followed by a 12-6 victory over future WWPA member Concordia. Freshman Ryan Werner scored three goals against the Lancers while sophomore Dane Estrella added two goals and two assists, but the Broncos could not erase CBU's 9-0 start. Senior Graham McClone hit three goals in Saturday's matchup against the Eagles.
