Water Polo Prepares for Saturday Home Match after Loss to No. 17 CBU
Loyola Marymount faced a tough 17th-ranked Cal Baptist team on Thursday night.

LOS ANGELES – With the regular season concluded, the Loyola Marymount men’s water polo team now travels to the Western Water Polo Association tournament. The Lions will play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at UC San Diego’s Canyonview Aquatic Center, La Jolla, Calif.

Friday’s schedule features LMU in the 4 p.m. time slot, playing after top-seeded UC Davis against No. 8 Fresno Pacific and then host UC San Diego and Santa Clara. Friday’s schedule is listed below:

No. 1 UC Davis vs. No. 8 Fresno Pacific, 11 a.m.
No. 2 UC San Diego vs. No. 7 Santa Clara, 12:45 p.m.
No. 3 Cal Baptist vs. No. 6 Loyola Marymount, 4 p.m.
No. 4 Concordia vs. No. 5 Air Force, 5:45 p.m.

LMU lost its matchup with CBU earlier this season, a 13-5 match in Riverside, when the Lancers were ranked 17th in the country.

All eight teams are guaranteed games on Saturday and Sunday, and times will be determined based on results. Sunday’s games will determine final tournament placing, with the first game at 8 a.m. and the championship scheduled for 1 p.m.
