LMU's Michael Cortez Named 2001 WCC Male Scholar-Athlete Of The Year
Loyola Marymount cross country runner Michael Cortez earned the West Coast Conference 2001 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award as announced Tuesday afternoon by WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran. (more)

Cross Country Teams Make Strides in 2000 (Final Release - 11/26/00)
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2000 racing season on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the NCAA District 9 Regional Championships in Fresno, Calif. Sophomore Eddie Giron paced the three-man LMU contingent at the regionals for a second consecutive year, finishing the 10K race in 36:30. (more)

Cross Country Teams Close Season at NCAA Regionals (Weekly Release No. 7 - 11/8/00)
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams will conclude their 2000 racing season at the NCAA District 9 Regional Championships this Saturday, Nov. 11 at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. The women will compete in a 5,000-meter race at 10:00 a.m. before a men's 10K at 11:00 a.m. The top two men's and women's teams in Fresno will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships in Ames, Ia., on Nov. 20. The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2000 West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. The Lion men finished seventh in the eight-team field, while on the women's side LMU placed eighth. (more)

Cross Country Gears Up for WCC Championships (Weekly Release No. 6 - 10/26/00)
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams compete in their most important meet of the 2000 season, the West Coast Conference Championships, this Saturday, October 28 at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. The men will compete in an 8,000 meter race at 9:00 a.m. before a women's 5K at 9:45 to determine the WCC's top teams. Santa Clara will serve as the host school. (more)

LMU Cross Country Results from Bronco Invitational
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Bronco Invitational Saturday at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. The Lion men finished fifth in a six-team field, while on the women's side LMU placed sixth out of six schools. (more)

Cross Country Has Final Tune-Up Before Postseason (Weekly Release No. 5 - 10/12/00)
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams head to the Silicon Valley this Saturday, Oct. 14 for the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara in Belmont, Calif. This is an important tune-up meet for the upcoming West Coast Conference Championships, which will be run on the same course in two weeks. The women's 5,000 meter race will begin at 2:00 p.m. before the men race an 8K at 2:45 p.m. (more)

Cross Country Teams to Run in Manhattan Beach 10K (Weekly Release No. 4) - 10/4/00)
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams will take a break from intercollegiate competition this Saturday, Oct. 7 as they participate in the Manhattan Beach 10K Road Race. The event, scheduled for a 7:30 a.m. start, attracts over 4,000 runners from all over Southern California. No team results will be recorded. (more)
Cross Country Results from Stanford Invitational
The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams sent a total of four runners to the 27th-annual Stanford Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30, all of whom competed in the Open Non-Scoring Division. (more)
