LMU Cross Country Results from Bronco Invitational
Los Angeles, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Bronco Invitational Saturday at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. The Lion men finished fifth in a six-team field, while on the women's side LMU placed sixth out of six schools.
Sophomore Eddie Giron was the top Loyla Marymount men's finisher at the Bronco Invite for a second-straight year, crossing the finish line 19th overall in 28:30. In women's action junior Jenny Atkinson led the Lion contingent for the seventh consecutive meet, placing 14th in a time of 21:27.
Host school Santa Clara won the men's 8,000 meter event, with the Broncos' Charlie Brenneman pacing the field at 18:39. San Jose State's Ana Martinez took gold in the women's 5K race (18:39), while Gonzaga claimed the team title.
LMU will be back on the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont on Saturday, Oct. 28 as it competes in the West Coast Conference Championships.
