A big third quarter surge by San Diego opened up a close contest between the LMU women’s basketball team and the West Coast Conference leading Toreros Saturday afternoon in Gersten Pavilion. The 10-minute period proved all the difference on the day as the Lions could not battle back in a 75-67 setback.

Upset Minded Lions Fall Just Short

Exactly one week after facing BYU on its home court in Provo, the LMU women’s basketball team hosted the West Coast Conference leaders for a rematch in Gersten Pavilion. In a shootout that saw both teams hit better than 41 percent from the field, including a near season-high 46 percent from the Lions, BYU ultimately prevailed, 82-75.
