Jacquelyn Woods enters her fourth season with the Lions...she has the quickness and speed of a point guard with the body and strength of a power forward...has developed well in her first three seasons of collegiate competition...has a tremendous amount of athleticism...is ready to be one of the players to carry the load... a smart and effective player... brings experience and tons of great energy.
played in all 30 games for the Lions coming off the bench, averaging 13.6 minutes per game... also averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per appearance... finished with 28 steals and 11 assists... had five steals in win at home against Gonzaga (2/5/04)... added 13 points and four rebounds in the win... before the end of the first half, she picked up a steal, and took the ball coast-to-coast, making the layup despite being fouled... picked up a loose ball on the next Zag possession, and hit a jumper for back-to-back baskets to give the Lions a two point lead at halftime.... other double-digit game was with 11 points in win over Portland (2/7/04)... grabbed a season-high seven rebounds against San Francisco (2/26/04)... jump started the Lion offense by scoring six points in under three minutes in the second half against St. Mary's.
played in 26 games and made two starts...scored double figures in four games, including back-to-back games at San Diego (1/16/03) and at Santa Clara (1/18/03)...the 15 points she scored at San Diego was a career-high ...nearly triple-doubled at Santa Clara with her 13 points, eight rebounds and six steals...collected a personal-best nine rebounds at Pepperdine...
played in 27 games and made one start during her rookie campaign...was a key player off the bench averaging 8.6 minutes and 2.6 points per game...scored a season-high 13 points against Colorado State (1/4/02)...was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc that same game against the Rams...collected a personal-best eight rebounds against Pepperdine (2/2/02).
A 2001 graduate of Ashland High School in Ashland, OR...a two-sport athlete, she earned four varsity letters in basketball and three in track...a three-time all-conference selection in both track and field and basketball... named all-state three times in track and field...was the state shot put champion as a junior...garnered the conference long jump championship as a sophomore... was a two-time all-state pick in basketball...three times earned all-city and all-area honors for her work on the court...was the Southern Oregon Conference Player of the Year as a junior...also received USA Today All-America honorable mention honors that year... prep basketball coach Heather Roberts.
Jacquelyn Michelle Lee Woods, "Jackie", was born on Nov. 11, 1982 in Stayten, OR...the daughter of Dianna Plunk...has three brothers, Andy, Adam and Wind, and two sisters, Clesha and Lea...also recruited by Long Beach State, Santa Clara and California ...enjoys listening to music and dancing in her spare time...names Jamaica as the one place she would love to travel to... a sociology major.
