Final WCC Weekend Begins at Santa Clara

The Lions head to Santa Clara on Thursday with seeding for the WCC Tournament on the line.

Briefly...
Amanda Patton enters her fourth season with the Lions... had a breakout season in 2005-06, earning WCC honorable mention honors... one of the prettiest shots in the conference... will be continue to be an impact player for the Lions this season... pure shooter with great outside range...sees the court extremely well...shows a great deal of confidence... incredible understanding of the game.

At LMU...
2005-06...
Junior guard was one of LMU's top players this season, and finished second on the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game...earned honorable mention All-WCC honors... won the LMU Athletic Dept. Most Improved Athlete award... broke the LMU single season record for three-pointers and finished with 67 for the season...named the WCC Player of the Week after a weekend sweep of Portland and Gonzaga... second on the team in assists with 54...shattered her career-high in points with 29 at Long Beach State... tied the LMU single game record for three-pointers (7) against the 49ers... led the team in scoring in the first two games, breaking her career high in points both nights... all 18 points against UC Irvine were scored in the first half, including five three-pointers... shot 37.9% from three-point range (67-for-177)..named to the All-Tournament team at the Blue Sky Classic...had her first double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds at Gonzaga...scored in double digits in both of the final two games of the regular season....17 double digit scoring games, including seven of the last nine games of the season.

2004-05...
Provided a spark off the bench with her deadly 3-point shot... made 46.2% of 3-point attempts, going 2-for-2 from 3-point range three times... appeared in 21 games, missing the first seven games with injury... made her season debut at Cal Poly (12/11/05)... averaged 6.8 minutes of action...hit a 3-pointer with 8.7 seconds remaining in the game to tie the score at Santa Clara (1/20/05)... scored a season-high eight points against the Broncos... played 12 minutes against Santa Clara (1/20/05) and Portland (2/10/05)... scored six points against San Francisco (1/6/05), Portland (1/15/05) and San Diego (3/3/05).

2003-04...
Appeared in 14 games in her first season at LMU... missed 11 games due to a lower leg stress fracture... registered a career-high nine points on three three-pointers against UC Riverside (12/5/04)... grabbed a season-high five rebounds while playing 21 minutes to help LMU win the LMU*Furama Thanksgiving Classic over Arkansas (11/29/03) ...dished out three assists in the win against Providence College (11/28/03)... Picked up two steals vs. Cal Poly (12/13/03).

High School...
Patton is a 2003 graduate of Hart High School in Newhall, CA...a two sport athlete...lettered four times in basketball and competed one year in softball...a four-time all-city and All-Santa Clarita area selection...was also a four-time All-Foothill League pick...selected to the All-CIF Division IA team three times...named team Most Valuable Player as a freshman and sophomore and Best Offensive Player as a junior and senior...holds the school record for three-pointers in a single game...is also the school record holder in career three-pointers, points and assists...prep basketball coach was Tom Bailey.

Personal...
Amanda Lauren Patton was born on Aug. 16, 1985 in Valencia, CA...the daughter of Thomas and Leslie Patton...has one sister, Dana...also recruited by Santa Clara, San Diego, New Mexico and Pacific...chose LMU because of its location, coaching staff and academic reputation...participated as a volunteer for the Special Olympics...a sociology major.
