Lions Claim Season's First Road W, Earn Season Sweep of Pepperdine

It's the old adage that defense and free throws win basketball games. The LMU women's basketball team took that to heart Thursday night in Malibu, hitting seven free throws as part of a game-ending 11-0 run and coming up with big rebounds and steals down the stretch to clinch a 58-56 win over Pepperdine at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Women's Basketball Concludes Homestand Versus Toreros

The Lions (9-15, 3-8 WCC) conclude a three-game West Coast Conference homestand on Thursday, Feb. 14, hosting San Diego (16-8, 8-4 WCC). With an 8-4 record in Gersten Pavilion this season, the Lions seek to avenge an overtime road loss to the Toreros from a month ago. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Back home in the friendly confines of Gersten Pavilion, the LMU women's basketball team snapped a three-game win streak and Alex Cowling stamped her name atop yet another category in the program record book as the Lions ran away with a 65-50 win over San Francisco.
