LMU Postgame Quotes

Head Coach Julie Wilhoit
Just obviously very difficult, frustrating way to end our season and to end our little run here at the tournament to get in the championship game and possibly win a championship.

In terms of us matching up with Pepperdine, I think it has been a challenge in all of our games. They are an extremely athletic team and certainly our depth, our lack of depth, was a concern. We really got into a dry spell for about eight to nine minutes that just absolutely paralyzed us. And we made some shifts and I appreciate the effort and the hard work that our team put together to fight back and climb their way back into it. But you just can't show up at a tournament and go stagnent like that. It is tournament time and everyone is vying for a championship, so you just can't play that way. So from that stand point it was disappointing. Again, I loved the fight we had in the last eight to 10 minutes of the game, but it was a little too late.

Big congrats to Alex and Lisa on hitting big shots to give them their accolades, I know they would both trade that it in for a victory to play Saint Mary's tomorrow.

Alex Cowling

On facing Pepperdine:
Pepperdine is a tough team, they have been tough all year. We have had trouble with them. I really don't have words for it. They are tough. We fought, we gave it all we had at the end, but they are a tough team.

On the goals for next year:
Our goal is always going to be is to get a WCC Championship. That what it is all about next year, that is what we are going for.

Lisa Helmers

On her record:
It was something I really wanted to do coming in here. I think, overall, one of the biggest things that helped me out was my team supporting me. Obviously, like coach said, I would trade it in for a couple of more games and a chance to play for the WCC championship. It is a great way to leave a little something behind as I go, but I hope someone breaks it pretty soon because that means we are getting better.
