LONG BEACH, CA--Long Beach State (1-3) lost its third straight game Tuesday night falling to Loyola Marymount (4-1) 66-53. With the game tied 33-33, LMU went on a 33-20 run to end the game, shooting 49% from the field.

Petra Gläser hit for double digits for the fourth straight game, leading The Beach with 16 points. Jayme Connors led the team with 10 rebounds. The Beach shot just 35% for the game.

Kate Murray led the Lions wiht 14 points, while Adrienne Slaughter and Jasmine Matthews picked up 12 and 10 points respectively. LMU outrebounded the 49ers 37-to29.

Loyola's Mary Turner nailed a lay-up with 10:20 remaining to give the Lions a 52-39 lead, capping a 19-8 run.

The 49ers went on an 8-2 run to open the second half before LMU countered with a 15-2 run to lead 46-35 with just under 14 minutes left in the game.

A lay-up by LMU's Jevay Grooms with :37 seconds remaining gave the Lions a four point advantage at the half, 29-25. Long Beach shot 35% from the field, while LMU shot 44%.

Long Beach State led by as many as six points, 23-17, before a 6-0 run by LMU tie the game at 23 wiith less ithen four minutes remaining in the first half.

The 49ers will next be in action on Saturday, December 6 as they take on the University of San Diego for a game at 2:00 pm.
