LMU Travels To San Diego To Face Toreros On Saturday

LOS ANGELES -- The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team travels south to take on the San Diego Toreros on Saturday in a 2 p.m. matchup. The contest serves as a rematch of the Jan. 13 game between the two teams, in which San Diego earned a 60-54 victory.

Aubrey Ward-El of the Toreros scored a game-high 21 points in the last meeting, while Myah Pace added nine points, a game-high 11 boards and five assists in the San Diego win. Gabby Green paced the Lions with 10 points and six steals while Bree Alford tallied eight points and six rebounds. San Diego held LMU to just 35.4 percent shooting from the field and 27.3 percent from three-point range, while the Toreros shot 48.1 percent from the field on the game.

The Lions defeated Pepperdine 75-60 on Thursday night and moved to 13-7 on the season with a 5-4 record in WCC play. LMU is 8-4 at home and 5-3 on the road in 2017-18. The Toreros sit at 12-8 on the season after losing to Santa Clara 59-50, also on Thursday night. San Diego has a 5-4 conference record as well, and is 7-2 at home and 4-6 in road contests.

Following Saturday's game, LMU travels to BYU for another road contest in Provo, Utah on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. PT. The Lions return home on Saturday, Feb. 3 to face the Portland Pilots at 2 p.m.
