SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second time this season, junior Gabby Green has been named the WCC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Green led Loyola Marymount to a 2-0 week to finish out the regular season with wins over Santa Clara and Pacific. She recorded a career-high 32 points (11-of-19 FG) on Saturday, while additionally tallying eight rebounds, four assists and a game-high four steals. The 6-2 guard also stuffed the stat sheet against Santa Clara on Thursday, finishing with six points, four rebounds, one block and game highs in steals (6) and assists (8).
On the week, she averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 boards, 6.0 assists and 5.0 steals.
Green received the WCC weekly honor for the first time this season on Jan. 1. She joins LMU alumni Jackie Johnson (2016-17) and Renahy Young (2008-09) as the only players to win the award twice in one season dating back to 2008-09.
The Oakland native led the WCC in steals per game through the regular season with an average of 3.2 per game. She also ranked third in assists (4.2) and blocks (1.3) per game, and 13th overall in points (13.0) and rebounds (6.6) per game.
