Women's Game 1 - San Diego vs. Loyola Marymount

Loyola Marymount Head Coach Julie Wilhoit

I'm glad we got the first one under our belt.

The thing I'm probably happiest about is that we played at 12 o'clock. From a coaches standpoint, I can't speak for my players but sitting around waiting all day is one of the hardest things to do as a coach. I was glad to get up, get my workout in and play.

We got out with the win. Our kids found a way to hold on and make some key contributions to lead us to the win.

We're just waiting until we need to put two halves together. The bottom line is it's about composure. It's about maintaining composure through momentum shifts. If you look at when the shifts occur, quite frankly we weren't patient in our offense.

We know this is our issue, this is our issue, we've continued to get better. But we absolutely have to keep composure during momentum shifts. Every team is going to have a momentum shift, it's about maintaining your composure during those times and finding a way to get a run. Tonight I felt like we did.

Loyola Marymount Ashlee Dunlap We knew we had to muster up and get ourselves ready for this tournament, We came in with confidence, which was great, we knew we had to. We knew that San Diego was going to come in and wasn't going to make it easy for us.
