Murray Sweeps WCC Player of the Month Honors
Lions' senior is named February's Player of the Month after leading LMU to its first women's basketball WCC championship.

San Bruno, Calif. - Loyola Marymount senior guard/forward Kate Murray has been named the West Coast Conference's February Player of the Month, the conference announced today. Murray earns her third-straight Player of the Month selection after leading the Lions to a perfect 7-0 conference mark and their first-ever conference title.
For the month of February, Murray led the Lions in points per game (17.4), rebounds (5.9 rpg),and steals (2.3 spg), while consistently being one of the nation's most accurate free-throw shooters.
The Tigard, Oreg., native has been a key performer in establishing the program-record 13-straight conference wins, along with the record 22 total victories. Murray has earned three WCC Player of the Week honors, the Marina Beach Classic all-tournament selection, and has now Swept Player of the Month honors this season, also being named in December and January. No WCC player has swept the conference monthly honors since prior to the 1999 season.
Murray and the Lions have the No. 1 seed for the West Coast Conference tournament and earned byes for the first two rounds. LMU will play in Saturday's semifinal game at noon at Santa Clara.
