SAN BRUNO, Calif. LMU redshirt-senior Alex Cowling is the final regular season WCC Player of the Week. Cowling averaged 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and 3.5 steals last week en route to be becoming the all-time leading scorer in West Coast Conference history.

On Thursday against BYU, Cowling went 7-for-18 from the field and six for seven from the charity stripe as the Lions upset visiting BYU, 68-55. Her final point of the night gave her 2,166 for her career, eclipsing the WCC all-time record of 2,165 held by Heather Bowman of Gonzaga (2006-10).

On Saturday, Cowling moved that career mark to 2,187, pouring in another 21 points as she led the Lions from 16 points down at San Francisco to clinch a 58-55 victory. She also added 10 rebounds in the game for her seventh double-double of the season. The pair of wins, coupled with results around the league, propelled the Lions into the 5th seed for the WCC tournament.
