LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The brand new playing surface for Gersten Pavilion, home of LMU basketball and volleyball, began installation on March 6 and heading into the final weeks of May, the new court is entering its final stages. The Robbins Sports Surfaces "MVP" floor will be painted this week and heading past Memorial Day weekend the final coats will be finished.

The new floor is the latest product from Robbins and the "MVP" line stands for Maximum Vibration Protection. The floor has been installed into just five arenas across the country and Gersten Pavilion will be the first on the west coast.

Countless playing lines and the center court design with the arch LMU has been stenciled and painting has already begun on the floor. You can watch the floor get its new coat of paint online through Lions' All-Access

The Floor will finish its painting process the final week of May with the protective surface coats to be applied by the first of June. The arena will remain offline until the end of June. LMU sports camps, including volleyball, boys' basketball and girls' basketball will be the first to try out the new floor in late June/early July.
