LOS ANGELES - For the second straight year, LMU women's basketball is back in Gersten Pavilion in July.
Taking advance once again of the NCAA's summer access model for full team practice in the summer (student-athletes must be enrolled in summer school or have met certain academic benchmarks), the Lions' eight returning players and six incoming freshmen took to the court for the first time on July 1.
The squad will be together for eight weeks for on-court sessions, strength and conditioning training, team bonding and summer school classes.
The LMU Sports Network headed out to the team's first practice and chatted with third-year Head Coach Charity Elliott, senior captain Emily Ben-Jumbo and freshman Makenzie Cast on the opportunity to begin team training in July.
