Women's Basketball Adds Transfer Guard

LOS ANGELES - LMU women's basketball has continued building for the future as Head Coach Julie Wilhoit announced the arrival of transfer guard Courtney Collishaw. After two years at UC Santa Barbara, Collishaw is on LMU's campus and has enrolled in summer classes. Due to NCAA transfer rules, she will sit out the 2009-10 season and have three years of eligibility remaining starting in the 2010-11 season.

Collishaw, a 5-11 guard from Visalia, Calif. played in six games last year for the Gauchos after sitting out the 2007-08 campaign with an injury. A graduate of Redwood High School in Visalia, Collishaw led the Rangers to a CIF Central Section Division II Championship as a junior. She was a four-time member of the Visalia Times Delta All-County First Team and earned Fresno Bee All-Area First Team distinction as a junior and senior. She was also name the Tulare County Player of the Year twice, averaging 17.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 3.1 steals per game as a junior.

LMU went 18-12 last season. The Lions lost just one senior from that squad and return four starters in 2009-10.
