Nov. 8, 2017

As her sixth season at the helm of the LMU women's basketball program is set to officially begin on Friday, head coach Charity Elliott is thrilled to announce that Naomi Yim has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lion program as part of the Class of 2022. Yim is a 5-6 point guard playing in her final season at Norco High School in Norco, Calif.

"We are so excited to welcome Naomi into the LMU Lion family," Elliott said. "She is a dynamic guard who can attack the rim, find open teammates, or knock down threes. She is a fierce competitor who hates to lose and we love that about her. She's going to bring lots of energy and excitement on the floor and help us fight for championships. Plus, she's a great student and an even better person. We could not be more excited. We just got better today."

Yim has earned several local accolades during her high school career, including being named to the All CIF First Team in 2015 and 2016 and Second Team in 2014 and 2017. She was also named CIF Player of the Year in 2016 and earned First Team Big VIII standing each year at Norco High School. She was ranked as a 4-star recruit by Prospects Nation and a 3.5-star recruit by Premier Basketball.

The 2017-18 LMU women's basketball season tips off this Friday, Nov. 10, at UC Riverside when the Lions take on the Highlanders at 7 p.m. LMU played an exhibition game vs. Occidental at home on Tuesday night and defeated the Tigers 87-38.
