“It’s going to be really nice to get back to Gersten and play in front of our home fans,” Lions head coach Charity Elliott said. “We’ve done a great job of taking care of business on the road and now we’re home for a while. We need to make sure we set the tone for when opponents come to play us at our place.”

Fans in attendance on Tuesday night will receive a LMU Basketball t-shirt, a 2017-18 team poster and can meet the women’s basketball players during a postgame autograph session after the matchup.

In LMU’s last game at Long Beach State on Friday, Nov. 17, junior Cheyanne Wallace led all scorers with a career-high 29 points (including a career-high 15 FTM), 11 boards and four steals as the Lions earned a 84-69 victory over the 49ers. Five Lions posted double-figure scoring as Gabby Green (15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks), Makenzie Cast (12 points), Bree Alford (10 points, 12 rebounds) and Andee Velasco (10 points, 4 assists) all posted 10-or-more points.

Following Tuesday night’s home-opener, LMU will host its annual Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, Nov. 24 and Saturday, Nov. 25. Along with the Lions, Eastern Michigan, Denver and Miami (Ohio) will all participate in the tournament. LMU will face off against Miami on Friday and Eastern Michigan on Saturday with both contests beginning at 3:30 p.m. Denver and Eastern Michigan will match up on Friday at 1 p.m. while Miami and Denver will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
