Lions Close Out Non-Conference Play With Big Win
West Coast Conference play begins Monday, Dec. 21 versus Portland.
LOS ANGELES - LMU women's basketball closed out the non-conference portion of its 2015-16 schedule with an 83-32 win over Bristol University Saturday afternoon in Gersten Pavilion.
Per NCAA Statistics policy, Bristol University is a "non-countable opponent" for NCAA Division I programs. Thus, all stats and records from the game will not be included in the Lions' season records.
LMU led from tip to final buzzer, holding the Bears to single digits in three of the four quarters. Makenzie Cast led all scorers with 19 points off the bench. Cheyanne Wallace recorded a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds and NK Ilang chipped in 11 points and 16 boards.
Ashley Hernandez was the lone Bristol player to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points.
The Lions will take a 4-7 record into the start of West Coast Conference play, which begins Monday, Dec. 21. LMU opens with a three-game homestand, beginning with a 7 p.m. tip-off against Portland.
