Women's Crew Finishes Third In WCC Championships

The Loyola Marymount University crew team put the finishing touches on a successful season with three teams advancing to the finals of the 2001 Pacific 10 Conference Rowing Championships.

Leading the way for the Lions was the men's novice eight team as they plced third in the petite final. They finished with a time of 6:44.4. Santa Clara won the event with a time of 6:39.7 and Santa Barbara finished second at 6:40.6.

The women's varsity eight team took fourth in the third final with a time of 7:40.6. Winning the third final was Colorado with a time of 7:25.6 They were followed by Santa Barbara and UC-San Diego.

In the men's varsity eight, the Lions took fifth in the petite final with a time of 6:38.7. Sacramento State, the host of the Pac-10 Rowing Championships, took home top billing with a time of 6:24.6.
