Sweet 16s Highlight of 11th Annual Iggys

A pair of trips to the NCAA Sweet 16 was the highlight of the 2016 Lions Athletic Fund Iggy Awards on Wednesday, April 28th at the DoubleTree LA Westside. Women's volleyball and women's soccer, who had historic runs in the their respective NCAA tournaments, were part of the many honors recognized at the 11th Annual Iggy Awards.

Taylor Earns Scholar All-American Honors

Senior defender Callie Taylor was named to both the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA DI and DII Women’s Scholar All-West Region First Team and the 2015 NSCAA NCAA DI and DII Women’s Scholar All-American Third Team, the association announced Thursday.

Trio Earn NSCAA All-West Region Honors

A trio of LMU women’s soccer players were named to the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region Teams, released by the organization Thursday. Seniors Jocelyn Blankenship and Callie Taylor earned First Team honors while classmate Morgan Hilby was named to the region’s Second Team.

Senior Leadership Breeds Success

This past fall, the LMU women’s soccer team turned in a season of play that has set a new benchmark for success for the Lion program. Records fell constantly as the year progressed, and by season’s end, 2015 was undoubtedly the best in program history.

Historic Run Comes to An End

The best season in LMU women’s soccer history came to a close Sunday. Facing one of the most dominate offenses in the country in 4th-ranked West Virginia, the Lions matched the Mountaineers step for step for 45 minutes, taking a 2-2 tie into halftime.
