Blair Quinn has joined the LMU women's soccer coaching staff, head coach Gregg Murphy announced today. The former University of Kansas goalkeeping coach comes to the Lions with a wealth of coaching and professional playing experience.
Quinn helped the University of Kansas finish with an 11-7-1 record last season, recording eight shutouts. He served as the team's volunteer assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. In addition, he served as a coach with the Blue Valley Soccer Club in Overland Park, KS for nearly three years.
Prior to his time with the Jayhawks, Quinn was an assistant women's coach at Johnson County Community and a graduate assistant with the men's program at his alma mater, Rockhurst University.
Quinn played at Rockhurst from 1994 through 1996, earning NAIA 1st Team All-America and NSCAA 2nd Team All-America honors in 1996. During his senior season, he set and still holds the NAIA record for shutouts with 19, earning an invitation to the NSCAA/UMBRO All-America Game.
Following his college career, Quinn played professionally for four teams over six years. He began his career with the Tallahassee Scorpions of the EISL before moving to the Sacramento Knights of the WISL. He then played for the Arizona Thunder (WISL) before concluding his career with the Kansas City Comets (MISL).
Quinn currently has a USSF `C' License and an NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeper Diploma.
