LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's soccer team surrendered one goal in the first half and two in the second to the visiting UC Irvine Anteaters, falling 3-0 Friday night at Sullivan Field.
It marked just the first home loss for the Lions this season as they fell to 3-6-0 on the year. With its fourth straight win, UC Irvine improved to 5-3-0 overall.
Laura McGrail netted a pair of goals to lead the Anteaters, scoring once in each of the halves, both on assists by Jordan Bruce. Jenna Pellegrino added a second-half goal, her second score of the season.
The two teams were even in total shots, 12-12, in the game, but UCI put nine shots on frame while the Lions managed just three.
The Lions return to Sullivan Field on Sunday, hosting #4/6 UCLA in a 4 p.m. tilt. The women's game, as well as the men's 1 p.m. game versus UC Davis will be free to all LMU Alumni BBQ ticket holders.
