FC Barcelona Visit to LMU - Player's Perspective
Senior Alicia Lloyd gives her thoughts on FC Barcelona's visit to LMU.
Aug. 23, 2006
What was your favorite moment from seeing Barcelona?
Just seeing some of the best soccer players in the world. You can't really think of anything to say. I just got chills as I watched them.
What was the funniest moment?
Watching them mess around when they did 8 vs. 2. Or when they tried to say something to us in Spanish and we had no idea what they were trying to say.
Did you (or your teammates) talk to any of the players? What did you talk about?
I talked to Ronaldinho. But it was hard because we didn't speak the same language so it took forever to try to understand what we were trying to say to each other. Also I couldn't think of anything to say because it was Ronaldinho. Everyone said hello and good bye to us as well.
Did you see things that you want to try this season?
Yeah, I liked their agility drills a lot.
Describe your thoughts when you first saw the team.
I couldn't really believe that they were actually coming to our school and practicing on our field. After it was all over, I was like..."Did this really happen?" It was honestly one of the greatest weekends ever.
Was it what you expected?
It was more! I can't believe this all happened. I am really sad they are gone because it was great being able to wake up the past few days and go to watch Barca practice.
