LOS ANGELES - Riding a three-game win streak, the Lions travel to face Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m., then return home to Sullivan Field on Sunday, Sept. 2 to host Wisconsin at noon.

LMU won back-to-back games last weekend, earning a 2-0 shutout at UC Irvine on Friday, Aug. 24 and a 2-1 final against Houston Baptist on Sunday, Aug. 26... At Irvine, Darien Pyka scored her first goal of the season midway through the first half and Jocelyn Blankenship added an insurance goal at the 31:02 mark... Blankenship was also credited with the assist on Pyka's goal for a three-point outing... It was just the second all-time win over UCI at Anteater Stadium for LMU... Two days later Madison Heilmann scored her second goal of the year and Pyka added her second in as many games as the Lions held on for a 2-1 win over the Huskies... LMU was dominant in the match, outshooting HBU 14-7...



The wins over UC Irvine and Houston Baptist pushed the Lions' current win streak to three straight... This marks the fourth consecutive season that LMU has won three of its first four games... Freshman Madison Heilmann currently leads the Lions with five points on two goals and one assist... Junior Darien Pyka has four points from two goals... Freshman Jocelyn Blankenship, sophomore Brianne Medved and senior Cori McGovern have also each tallied a goal... In goal, junior Brittany Jagger has played every minute, making 10 saves while holding a 1.24 goals against average... The shutout of UC Irvine was the 16th of her career, giving her sole possession of fourth place in LMU's all-time record book... Lions have started the same 11 players in all four games this season, including a pair of freshmen in Heilmann and Blankenship... The win over Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 19 was the first career victory for head coach Michelle Myers who takes the reigns of the program after serving as an assistant for the past 15 seasons... The golden-goal victory against the Titans moves the Lions to 21-20-42 all-time in overtime games... In a preseason poll, the Lions were picked to finish seventh in the highly competitive WCC...

The Lions are a perfect 4-0-0 all-time against the Roadrunners... The series dates back to 2008 when CSUB began its transition from NCAA DII to DI... The Lions have outscored the Roadrunners 12-1 in the four games, claiming three 3-0 shutouts, including one last year at Sullivan Field... In that match, Linda Baaker scored twice while Cori McGovern added a third goal...

CSUB is 1-3-0 on the season, earning their first win in their last outing - a 2-1 victory over San Francisco on Aug. 26... The Roadrunners trailed 1-0 just eight minutes into the match, but goals in the 40th minute and 62nd minute competed the come-back win... Erica Shelton, Joanna Ortiz and Emily Noethe have each scored once for CSUB... Sam Pena leads the squad with two assists, both coming in the victory over USF... In goal, Tori Ornela has played every minute of the four matches, allowing seven goals while making 17 saves...

Sunday's match between the Lions and Badgers of Wisconsin will be the first program history.

Wisconsin is ranked No. 11 in the latest Soccer America poll and No. 14 in the most recent NSCAA/Continental Tire DI poll, both released this week... The Badgers enter the week 3-0-0 and will face No. 1 UCLA on Friday before facing LMU on Sunday... Wisconsin opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Notre Dame, before also shutting out South Dakota State, 5-0, and Loyola Chicago, 4-0... Kodee Williams, Paige Adams and Monica Lam-Feist have each scored twice while Williams also has two assists for a team-high six points...

Non-conference action continues as the Lions play at UCLA on Friday, Sept. 7. That match, which kicks off at 7 p.m. will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network. LMU then returns to Sullivan Field on Sunday, Sept. 9 to host Idaho State at 11 a.m.
