SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Loyola Marymount junior goalkeeper Charlee Pruitt has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Pruitt led the Lions to a perfect 2-0 weekend, earning two shutouts in 180 minutes of action that included wins over No. 17 Utah and Columbia. The junior totaled eight saves to earn the two clean sheets.

Her performance against the 17th-ranked Utes on Friday was spectacular, keeping one of the nation’s top offenses out of the back of the net. With the Lions scoring early in the game, the Utes continuously pressured LMU’s back line to the tune of 12 total shots. Pruitt made five of her six saves in crunch time of the second half.

Sunday was another solid result for LMU, with the Lions again keeping their opponents out of the back of the net. Both of Pruitt’s save’s came in the second period.

This is Pruitt’s third time being named WCC Player of the Week and first of the season. The conference recognized her Sept. 9 and Oct. 31 of last season as well.

Pruitt and the Lions will be home this weekend for a pair of weekend games. LMU hosts UC Irvine Friday at 7 p.m. and Long Beach State Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sullivan Field.
