About Oklahoma State (#13 NSCAA, #13 Topdrawer, #14 Soccertimes, #13 Soccerbuzz)
Oklahoma State maintained its perfect start to the 2008 season, moving to 6-0-0 with wins last weekend at #26 Louisville and Xavier. The high-scoring Cowgirls fell behind Louisville 1-0 but answered with three straight goals before conceding another goal and holding on for a 3-2 victory. Things weren't as close on Sunday against Xavier. Annike Niemeier and Yolanda Odenyo scored 37 seconds apart and Siera Strawser followed with a hat trick in a 5-1 win. Kasey Langdon leads OSU with four goals and six assists for 13 points while Odenyo and Kyndall Treadwell each have a team-high five goals. OSU has outscored opponents 23-4 thus far.
Colin Carmichael is in his fourth year as head coach at OSU, going 47-15-9. Last year, OSU was 14-6-3, placing sixth in the Big 12 at 5-4-1, and advancing to the NCAA Second Round.
In the teams' only meeting to date, LMU upended the visiting Cowgirls 1-0 in double overtime in 2006.

About Oral Roberts
Oral Roberts has won three in a row heading into Tuesday night's matchup with in-city rivals Tulsa. The Golden Eagles have scored three goals in each of the last three games, beating Arkansas State 3-2 last Friday and Middle Tennessee State 3-0. The shutout against MTSU was the first time this season that either team had not scored in an ORU match. Natalya Manyan leads ORU with five goals and 10 points.
Ryan Bush is in his first season as head coach at Oral Roberts, his alma mater. Last year, the Golden Eagles went 8-9-3, placing sixth in The Summit League with a 2-3-3 record. They bring back 10 letterwinners and seven starters.
LMU and Oral Roberts have never met before.

Last Week Recap: LMU Extends Unbeaten Streak
LMU's defense continued to shine last week as the Lions posted two more shutouts, their second and third in a row. On Friday, LMU traveled to Cal State Bakersfield and the theme of the day was "three". The Lions opened the scoring in the third minute on #3 Lauren Shanklin's team-leading third goal of the season. In the 14th minute, sophomore Lily Sorentino supplied her third assist of the year, springing junior Lacey Bartels for the header. LMU completed the scoring with its third goal of the first half in the 32nd minute as freshman Brittney Sanford fed classmate Erin Rementer for her first career goal. Junior Allyssa Clark made, you guessed it, three saves in the shutout.
The Lions were back home on Sunday against a tough Utah squad. Despite being out-shot 19-9, LMU was able to come away with a 0-0 draw thanks to some stellar defense. Clark, celebrating her 22nd birthday, came one save away from her career-high, stopping eight shots.

Baduria Named Semi-Finalist for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award
Although she has been out since September 5 due to injury, senior Stefanie Baduria has impressed enough people to be named one of 30 candidates nationally for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. The award, given annually to senior student-athletes across nine NCAA Division I sports, selects individuals who qualified based on their dedication and achievement in four areas: Classroom, Character, Community, and Competition. From the initial list of 30 candidates, a national media committee will select 10 finalists for the 2008 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in both divisions in October. Those 10 names from each division will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote beginning October 9 and concluding November 19. Fan balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award. Winners will be announced during the 2008 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championships in Cary, North Carolina, scheduled for December 5-7, and during the 2008 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships in Frisco, Texas, scheduled for December 12-14. For more information and for fan voting, log on to www.seniorclassaward.com.

Shanklin Picks Up the Slack
After coming off the bench to score three goals on just seven shots in 2007, Lauren Shanklin continues to display incredible efficiency. In the opener against UNLV, the senior again started the game on the bench but made the most of her opportunity, scoring on her first shot of the season as she rebounded a saved free-kick to give the Lions a tie with the Rebels. She then popped up in the right place to rebound a missed shot and get LMU on the board vs. UC Irvine and opened the scoring with an opportunistic rebound at Cal State Bakersfield. She has already tied her career high and leads the team with three goals on just seven shots in 2008. In 44 career matches, Shanklin has eight goals on 25 shots.

The New "Gloved One"
Given the opportunity in goal, junior Allyssa Clark is making the most of it. Clark has started all seven games and leads the WCC in saves (36) and saves per game (5.14). She enters this weekend having not allowed a goal in the last three matches, a string of 290:04 minutes and was four seconds from having four consecutive clean sheets. Clark has allowed one goal or fewer in six of the seven matches, including her first career shutout against Harvard. She also recorded a career-high nine saves in the 1-0 loss to #12 West Virginia. Her goals-against-average of 0.82 is second in the conference.

Sorentino Plays Supplier
With the departure of LMU's top two scorers from 2007, much of the scoring slack was expected to be picked up by sophomore Lily Sorentino. So far, however, Sorentino has displayed her unselfish side as she leads the team with three assists. After providing a team-high six assists as a freshman, Sorentino now has nine for her career, putting her tied for 10th on the LMU all-time list.

Lions Receiving Votes Regionally
For the third straight week, the Lions have been recognized as receiving votes by Soccerbuzz.com in the West Region poll.

Terrific Tiff
Coming off back-to-back All-WCC years, it was already evident that junior Tiffany Harrison is a premier player. She proved that at the Inn at Saint Mary's Classic, where she was named to the All-Tournament Team. Still, her goal in 2008 was to get forward more and make a difference. Too often caught up in the defensive third, Harrison has made the most of her ventures forward, tying for the team lead with two goals, both game-winners. Against UC Irvine, she rose above the pack to head home LMU's second goal, which proved to be the difference in the 3-1 victory. Two days later, her 52nd-minute strike was all LMU would need to beat Harvard 1-0. Her performances earned her a place on the Soccerbuzz.com Elite Team of the Week for September 9. Harrison has already tied her career-high of two goals and now has five for her career.

Home Unbeaten Streak Extended
After dropping its home opener last season, LMU rattled off 10 straight victories at Sullivan Field and carried that winning streak into the 2008 campaign. That streak has extended to 14 unbeaten now that LMU is 2-0-2 at home in 2008.

Mallia Reaches Milestone
LMU's 3-1 triumph over UC Irvine on September 5 not only was the team's first of the year, but it also gave Head Coach Joe Mallia his 100th career coaching victory. Mallia entered his second season at LMU sitting on 99 career victories after amassing 87 of those at Loyola (Md.), with 12 more coming in his first season at LMU.
