Jagger Named WCC Player of the Week
Oct. 22, 2012
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - LMU junior goalkeeper Brittany Jagger has been named the West Coast Conference women's soccer Player of the Week for October 22, 2012. This marks the second time this season Jagger has earned the honor, also having done so on Sept. 10 after she recorded six saves in a 1-1 tie against then No. 1 UCLA. This past week, Jagger posted her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season as LMU earned a 3-0 upset on the road at 15th-ranked Pepperdine, and a 1-0 overtime victory over San Francisco. On Friday in Malibu, Jagger faced an onslaught of offensive pressure from the Waves, making eight saves in 90 minutes of action. On Sunday, the Lions remained unbeaten in overtime matches this season and Jagger finished with three saves for her sixth clean sheet. The back-to-back wins moved the Lions to 9-5-2 overall and 3-2-0 in WCC play, putting them in a three-way tie for second with Pepperdine and San Diego. BYU currently sits alone atop the standings. Also nominated: Michele Murphy, BYU; Amanda Frisbie, Portland; Dani Weatherholt, Santa Clara 2012 WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
