Think Pink, Kids Day Highlight Women’s Soccer Weekend

LOS ANGELES – Following a week away from the Bluff, Loyola Marymount women’s soccer returns to campus this week for a pair of games at Sullivan Field. The Lions (6-6-4, 1-4-1 WCC) host Saint Mary’s (6-10-0, 2-4-0 WCC) on Friday for their annual “Think Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness game and close out the weekend with Sunday’s “Kids Day” game against Pacific (5-10-2, 2-4-0 WCC).

Second-half Goals Secure Women's Soccer Victory
Despite being outshot in the opening half, a pair of goals in the final 30 minutes of action was enough to secure victory for the Loyola Marymount women's soccer team.

LMU last played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer Saturday at BYU and now faces a Gaels team that scores 1.00 goal per game, the second-fewest in the West Coast Conference. LMU lowered its goals against average on the season to 1.17 after Saturday’s shutout, third lowest in the WCC. Game time is set for 7 p.m. under the lights, with pink water bottles and pom poms given out to the first 100 fans in attendance.

Sunday’s 2 p.m. game will kick off with a kids bounce house at 1 p.m. for children in attendance before the Lions and Tigers take the field. Pacific has allowed 31 goals this season, the second most among conference teams, and is coming off a 3-0 loss to Santa Clara. Pacific will play at Pepperdine Friday night before coming to LMU Sunday. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free LMU soccer scarf.
