LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Junior goalkeeper Joslyn Slovek was named the WCC's Player of the Week after recording 12 saves to lead the Lions to a 0-0 tie with #5 Portland. The junior finished the regular season with eight shutouts, with five coming in WCC games.
The Scottsdale, AZ native was phenomenal in net, thwarting the WCC's top offense. In fact, just one other team had shutout Portland this year- #1 North Carolina. The Pilots came into the game averaging almost three goals per game, but the LMU defense, led by Slovek, kept Portland off the scoreboard.
Slovek finished the regular season with a 0.58 GAA with eight shutouts. In WCC games, her GAA dropped to 0.38 with five shutouts in seven games.
