Breifly: Jamie Shoma is entering her first year with the Lions' soccer program...role on 2000 squad changed greatly with the possible loss of defender Heather Nelson for the season...in Nelsons absence, Shoma will see starting time at the outside back position...a talented defender who will gain valuable experience early in the season...expected to grow into role as she gains college soccer experience.

High School: Shoma graduated from Iolani School in 2000...she helped led the school to 1999 Hawaii State title...her and Nishikawa were part of 1998 & 1999 league championship teams...was a first team conference all-star her junior and senior seasons...nominated as a first team all-state selection her final two seasons...was a four-year letter-winner

Personal: Jamie Kayo Shoma was born on December 29, 1981 in Honolulu, HI...daughter of Jennifer and Leighton Shoma...has one sister, Kay Lynn...she is an undeclared major...choose LMU for its soccer program, academics, location and size...was recruited by St. Mary's, Pacific, Pepperdine, USF and UTEP...played against Mia Moe and Shaina Nishimoto in high school...coached at Bob Barry Soccer Clinic in the summer.
