Briefly...Brittany Bassett enters her fourth season in the Lions' program...
At LMU...2005...earned PCSC Second Team honors... started 52 of 54 games at shortstop...hit four home runs on the year... 12 multi-hit games... recorded three hits against Notre Dame (2-25-05) and San Diego (3-20-05)... three of her home runs were solo shots... her fourth home run was a two-run homer that gave LMU a 2-0 lead over Saint Mary's (4-10-05)... spent the second half of the year in the number five spot in the lineup... drove in the first two runs with a double in the first inning against San Diego (4-23-05)... batting average was as high as .309 on April 10th... drove in LMU's first run against #24 Arizona State with a single through the left side...had an RBI single to tie the game against San Diego and scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning as part of the comeback (3-20-05).
2004... Played in and started 18 games for the Lions at shortstop in 2004... missed the last 38 games of the season with an injury... hit .333 in 45 at-bats in her sophomore year... drove in seven runs...
2003... was one of the top freshman in the PCSC her first season, earning first-team All-PCSC honors and Freshman of the Year honors... played and started all 53 games of her inaugural season of collegiate softball, hitting .288 on the season... she finished with 47 hits, nine doubles, a triple and two home runs... she added 21 RBI... the short stop finished with a .951 fielding percentage and had an impressive nine assists against Kent State (3/6/03)... finished the season on a hotstreak, posting multiple hit games in the last five contests of the season and had 12 for the season... best game came in win over Saint Mary's (5/4/03), going 2-for-3 with five RBI...
High School... a 2002 graduate of Vista High School in Vista, CA...a four year softball letterwinner who served as team captain her final season...a first-team All-Palomar League, All-North County and All-CIF selection as a senior...named to the Union Tribune All-Academic team...earned Vista High MVP following her final campaign...named All-Palomar League honorable mention in 1999 and 2000...earned a letter in volleyball in 1999...
Personal...Brittany Marie Bassett was born in Fallbrook, CA...she is the daughter of Aaron and Rebecca Bassett...has two sisters, Kylie and Camille...Kylie plays softball at Louisiana Tech... recruited by San Diego State, San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and Brown...an Accounting and Marketing double major.
