Tracy Cook enters her senior season in the Lions' program...
Earned Second Team All-PCSC honors at first base... was second on the team in batting average in PCSC play, hitting .339 against conference opponents... had two home runs, three doubles and eight RBI in PCSC play... hit .245 overall with three home runs and eight doubles... also drove in 20 runs... started and played 52 games... played mostly at first base, but also saw action in the outfield and in the pitching circle... pitched 7.0 innings, allowing just one run and striking out two... had 12 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games... hit safely in 13 of LMU¹s 20 PCSC games... recorded multiple hits in every game of the four-game series with Saint Mary¹s... was 9-for-14 with seven RBI, three runs, two doubles and two home runs that weekend... pitched 5.2 innings of relief against San Diego on May 7th, allowing one run on seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks...
saw most of her time as the designated player...also started seven games at first base... cooled off over the last month of the season, but was LMU's biggest power threat for a 17 game stretch between March 5th and 23rd... starting with the second game against Cal Poly (3-3-05), and going until game one against UCSB (3-23-05), Cook hit .353 (18-for-51) with six home runs, four doubles, one triple, 17 RBI and an .824 slugging percentage... during that span, she had seven multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games... hit all six of her homeruns during that stretch, including a grand slam against Boston College.. hit two home runs against Eastern Illinois...also appeared in four games as a pitcher... her best performance of the year was tossing 2.2 shutout innings against Notre Dame.. allowed just four hits with no walks in that appearance... faced teams ranked in the top 5 in two of her four pitching appearances.
Attended Bullard High in Fresno, CA... lettered in softball all four years of high school... was All-Tri-City League her freshman, sophomore and junior years... was All-State in Class A in her junior year... was All-Tri-City Conference her junior year... was also recruited by Penn State and UCSD...
Born October 13, 1985 to Sally and Dale Cook... has two brothers, Ryan and Matthew... father played football at Merced JC... chose LMU for the opportunity to play Division I softball and for the education... a Natural Sciences major.
