Late Rally Comes Up Short Against Wildcats

The LMU softball team put up a fight against No. 14/19 Arizona in its lone game Friday, but a four-run first by the Wildcats was to much to rally back from in a 5-3 Lion loss at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

Briefly...Kathryn Dutton enters her third season at LMU...

2012...Appeared in 17 games, starting 16, early in the season before missing much of the late part of the year due to injury... hit .273 (9-for-33) with 11 RBIs... hit one home run, a two-run shot against CSU Bakersfield (Apr. 7)...

2011...A 2011 PCSC Player of the Week (April 19)... became the 7^th player in PCSC history to hit a home run in three straight games (at Santa Clara, April 16-17)...appeared in 49 games, starting 48...hit .266 with 10 home runs and 28 RBI... dominant force defensively behind the plate.

High School...three-year letterwinner at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego for coach Steve Kuptz... two-time All-Palomar League selection... batted .338 with five home runs and an on-base percentage of .451 as a senior to earn All-CIF Division I honors... voted team captain, Most Inspirational, and Best Offensive Player... also played one year of basketball... honor roll student... member of California Junior Scholarship Federation...
