Briefly...Stephanie Hughes enters her fourth season with the Lions... will compete for playing time behind the plate...

At LMU...

2011...appeared in 14 games in 2011, starting seven of them... Hughes blasted two home runs for two RBIs, one against Wisconsin (Mar. 15) and the other against Simon Fraser (April 4)...split time behind the plate and pinch hitting...

2010...National Scholar-Athlete... made 13 appearances, starting nine games... batted .174 (4-for-23) with two doubles, a triple, and one RBI... scored three runs and walked six times... slugged .348... each of first three hits on the year went for extra bases... went 1-for-2 with a triple, a pair of walks, and two runs scored vs. Kent State (Feb. 12)... was 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored vs. Bucknell (Mar. 19)... hit a double in 1-for-2 effort vs. Troy (Mar. 13)...

2009...PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll... appeared in three games, making one start as a freshman... hit .400 in her limited number of at bats... collected a hit in her first career at-bat vs. Indiana (March 15, 2009)... had her first career RBI against Portland State (May 3, 2009)...

High School...Four-year letterwinner at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. for Coach Dick Amberik... named All-South Bay as a senior... three-time All-Bay League honoree... voted team MVP in 2007 and 2008... team captain her final three seasons... four-year Scholar-Athlete... Personal...Stephanie Nicole Hughes was born on August 18, 1989 in Long Beach, Calif.... parents are Wendy and Steve Hughes... prefers to be called "Stephi"... has an older sister, Heather... chose LMU because it was close to home... also considered attending Georgia, Georgia Tech, Providence, Minnesota, and Auburn... majoring in Liberal Studies with a focus on education...
