Freshman Sydney Gouveia fanned a school record 22 batters and senior Danielle Smith knocked in the game-winning run as LMU topped Utah Valley 2-1 in 10 innings. The Wolverines won game two, 1-0.
A middle-inning rally came up just short for the LMU softball team Wednesday as it dropped its final non-conference game of the season, 8-4, to crosstown rival and No. 15/17 ranked UCLA at the Bruins' Easton Stadium.
It took a total of 18 complete innings, but the LMU softball team earned a doubleheader PCSC sweep of Santa Clara Friday.
