Freshman Sydney Gouveia fanned a school record 22 batters and senior Danielle Smith knocked in the game-winning run as LMU topped Utah Valley 2-1 in 10 innings. The Wolverines won game two, 1-0.

Lions Drop 8-4 Decision to No. 15 UCLA

A middle-inning rally came up just short for the LMU softball team Wednesday as it dropped its final non-conference game of the season, 8-4, to crosstown rival and No. 15/17 ranked UCLA at the Bruins' Easton Stadium.

Freshmen Stephanie Crist and Meghan von Behren each homered in the fifth inning, with von Behren providing the eventual game-winner, as the LMU softball team held on for a 8-7 win over visiting Harvard Wednesday at Smith Field.
